  • Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?

The frequency of treatments is based on your individual case. Your provider will make a recommendation based on your initial evaluation, you will decide if the plan feels appropriate for you or if it needs to be modified.

What is the chiropractic adjustment? Does it hurt?

The adjustment is a controlled force that’s delivered to areas of the spine or joints that aren’t functioning normally, are in pain, or have a restricted range of motion. Adjustments are generally not painful, but you can expect to experience a mild discomfort during the adjustment depending on the area. You may also experience soreness in the area post adjustment but it should resolve within 24-48 hours. This is typical of those new to chiropractic or have not had an adjustment in a while.

What happens after I finish my treatment plan?

When we have resolved your issue then we will move into a long term wellness plan. Here we will discuss any other health goals you may have or address any other issues found in your initial evaluation. Your provider will make recommendations for things you can work on to improve and maintain physical and mental wellness. You will decide if you wish to continue working with us on your long term wellness or discontinue your care with us until you need us again.

How often will I need to be seen when I reach long term wellness status?

As you go through care with us, your provider will help you to develop a body awareness that helps you to assess if you need care. As you begin long term wellness, you will decide how frequent you get care to maintain your physical and mental wellness.

What if I need to stop in the middle of my treatment plan?

Life happens and we understand that. You can stop your care with us at any time if you wish. Your provider will discuss with you any modification options if you want to find a way to continue. Please note that depending on your issue, flare ups or increase in symptoms can occur when you discontinue care. Your provider will try to equip you with strategies to manage this on your own until you can resume your treatment plan

How do things change if I have a large or small deductible?

Your specific deductible requirements for your insurance will be discussed with you prior or at the time of your first appointment. We want to make sure you are fully aware of your financial obligations before you begin your treatment plan.

How should I dress?

You should wear loose-fitting clothing to expose the area that we will be evaluating and treating. For example, if you have a knee problem, it is best to wear shorts. For a shoulder problem, a tank top is a good choice. For low back problems, wear a loose-fitting shirt and pants, again so your provider can perform a thorough examination.

How long are my treatment visits?

Regular treatments can last between 10-20 minutes Initial and re-evaluation can last between 30- 60 minutes

Why is chiropractic a good option?

Chiropractic is a safe, natural, and drug-free approach to health and wellness. Chiropractors use adjustments to improve spinal alignment and reduce pressure on the nervous system. When the nervous system is functioning properly, the body is able to heal itself more effectively. In the short-term, chiropractic care can reduce or eliminate pain and help you heal from injuries. In the long-term, regular chiropractic care can help prevent harmful injuries, reduce physical and mental stress, improve mobility and balance, enhance flexibility, boost immunity to disease, and increase bodily awareness.
